From “Digging”

“By God, the old man could handle a spade.
Just like his old man.

My grandfather cut more turf in a day
Than any other man on Toner’s bog.
Once I carried him milk in a bottle
Corked sloppily with paper. He straightened up
To drink it, then fell to right away
Nicking and slicing neatly, heaving sods
Over his shoulder, going down and down
For the good turf. Digging.”

Hiya, I am really glad I have found this information. Today bloggers publish just about gossip and net stuff and this is actually frustrating. A good web site with exciting content, this is what I need. Thank you for making this website, and I will be visiting again. Do you do newsletters by email? Eunice Ken Mosra

Thank you so much for the positive reaction to the site. Sorry for the delay in responding, but have had computer issues. As the site builds up a following, we will start sending out newsletters. In the meantime, happy to chat with you. Hope you’ll keep following, Susan

My apologies for the delay in my response. I’ve had a house full of grandchildren visiting from all over the country (safety measures in place) and have had only a minute here and there to check in on the site. At the moment, I do weekly lessons (Fridays) and poems (mine and others that I love and admire) and I am working up to a newsletter, when the site has a nice following. I so appreciate your good words and hope you will stay interactive with poetladykatz – ask questions- submit poems – make comments… I am so looking forward to connecting with fellow poets/poetry lovers out there, and am grateful for your interest in this new adventure of mine. All best, Susan
