It’s hard, so hard to show my weakness. My heart cripples when I think of someone reading it.

Let your heart beat and your hope breed,

A fire in the rain lights itself to be

the light in the bottomless wreck,

the tender warmth in the unknown sea.

A guiltless venture, a flourishing seed,

Through the holes in the glass you see

a time beyond the fate concealed,

a string tied to the Garden of Dreams.

Happiness noticed in rare eyes, gleams

like the sun that casts a shadow upon all evil,

like a child that begs to be noticed, so unlike

greed that shoulders a heavy burden.

A story told, a burden removed,

    Tick-tock, your heart weighs upon

the smile so predictable, the step forward,

But if it all goes wrong, then boom

your hearts breaks into tiny pieces of glass.

Thank you, Bella, for sharing this beautiful poem.  And it is, a beautiful poem – filled with imagery, internal rhyme, intensity, emotional investment, and a message that touches one deeply.  I know the reluctance to share your heart with others, but it just may touch them in a way that connects them and makes them stronger.  Great job.  Great poem.  I am so glad you chose to share it with me, Susan

I had always wanted to pour my heart out, but there was no one to tell. Thank you for this opportunity.
