And in the darkness of the night sky,

I can see your softness glow .

The contrast you set is a beautiful lie

For the distance hurts sometimes, you know.

And each night I love to see

Parts of you becoming a whole ,

And then this mysterious thought strikes me

If I’ll ever be able to catch a glimpse of your soul.

O you! That shines when everything around tries to dim your light,

O you! Who stays to give my lonely self some company.

But Love, can you come a little closer and save me from this plight,

I do feel your cold hands but soon you’ll be gone and once again it’ll be sunny.

Thank you for submitting your poem for consideration for Featured Poem of the Month for July.  There is certainly a great deal of “self” in your poem, making it a personal experience for the reader.  I very much like the concept of trying to “catch a glimpse of your soul.”  It gives the reader something meaningful to think about.  – Susan
