You cry, you yell, you snarl, you fidget…

You fight it with all the strength that you gather within…

You sit in dilemma, pretending to decide to not know what it is…

Whilst your mind does and so does your heart…

At one instance, You want to break the chain and stop the pain…

At another, You cling onto it knowing, its a part of you..

Weren’t you taught to love yourself with all that you got? – flaw or perfection?

You do you, they say – you don’t understand how..

Probably you do, but don’t you think that is all you have left of the world?

You’ve feared companionship and have craved it simultaneously…

Doesn’t this seem like the game of hide and seek, where you feel belonged?

You feel ‘important’, for you know they are the only ones true to you?

They pay a visit even when you least ask for it…

May be that is why you decide to let it remain, but with a condition…

You control them, and not they control You!

    You control the Monster!

Thank you for submitting this very intense poem.  Such strong feelings come through and you have maintained the mood all throughout the poem.  I do believe your poem would benefit from imagery.  Words like “important” could be transformed into an image that would help the reader become more involved in the poem and the emotions.  “Important” as what?  You feel like a “God” or  “storm clouds” that block the sun.  You have an abundance of feeling in your poem, now give us some beautiful word pictures so we can experience your words on a sensory level.  Really enjoyed reading your poem and thank you again, for sharing.  – Susan
