    Something wicked this way comes

    Looming heavy in the distance

Not knowing when or where it’s from

You question then what is it

As sorrows fall like small rain drops

    Alighting on your soul

And shivers rack you toe to top

Til all over you are cold

And shame and guilt rain down in time

    A steady pouring rain

And shelters out you cannot find

A place to hide  from pain

And every inch and every step

    Every thing becomes a chore

And we dig deep down to find what’s left

    Moving onward through the storm

Hi Glen – Thanks so much for sharing your poem – it has a strong and stirring tone and a compelling message.  Your rhymes work – and you maintain a comfortable rhythm throughout.  I am so happy to welcome you to the site and hope to be receiving more of your poems in the future.  Your friend in poetry, Susan
