Poet Lady Katz: new forum reply to Sakina

New reply from Susan Katz

Thank you for submitting your poem for consideration for Featured Poem of the Month. I have already chosen the December poem, but will consider this poem for our January featured poem. Your poem is filled with intense emotion and must have required a total commitment on your part, to put those raw feelings into words. Your friend in poetry, Susan

Sakina

Sakina was the daughter of Imam Hussain,

She had a cheerful smile and friendly nature.

She lived only for four years,

Imam Hussain often said, " A house without sakina would not be worth living.

She was very generous and had tragedy,

Her earrings were pulled and slapped was her face.

She died in the prison of Sham (Syria).
