– to Don
Einstein said that death dissolves us
spreads us like a mist
back into the sea I understand
the theory in my head
that we are all a part of something bigger
than ourselves that nothing starts or stops
just for an instant moves a bit apart
from all the rest but in that instant
you and I collide and know the need
of boundaries on the skin that fingers
might define explain
to what I call my heart
thrown back into the soup of time
how I will bear
the parting pain
