teach me how to love the galaxies

I have already loved the stars-

I have touched and traced the

    constellations bare burning

    through the hours-

steady fire desired my body whole-

I ran away upon the bars

    on shuddering case

    your chest- a pleasing flower-

before I could love the uneven mars

    liberating and boundless-

I dared to glare your eyes ardent

no arrow would know my heart-

    though such a cruel word-longing-

As if I could ever begone- learn you-

    among your seducing lies, inevitably

    slackened hands known to me-

    And only me-

    condemned fireflies as they fled

            {[words that exist after all]}

Thank you for submitting your beautifully written poem for consideration for Featured Poem of the Month, for June.  You are a talented writer and have a keen understanding of the fundamentals of poetry.  I very much enjoyed reading this fine poem, Susan
