    How to live?

The voices from the cold Himalayas sang

Loud and powerful their beautiful voices rang

Of life being a pursuit of the meaningful

Against hedonism & being selfishly wasteful

From the cafes of Brazil, the voices replied

Live without fear of tomorrow, they implied

Said life existed only in the present moment

In giving up on the past & future’s torment

Philosophers from Greece proceeded to say

Be purposeful & carefree, at the end of the day

Said it was a balance that must be achieved

To attain harmony was best, they all agreed

The African man replied as we watched the snow

The answer lies in the fact that we do not know

And truly acknowledging us never really knowing

Ensuring knowledge & perspectives are growing

Beautiful, thoughtful poem! Thank you so much for submitting it to be considered as Featured Poem of the Month, for June.  You have done a very lovely job of staying true to the sense of poetry, using rhyme, and presenting your message.  Well done, Susan
