We were a pitstop, the break in the woods, with a picnic basket spread over the grass, with the breeze running tangles in our hair under the hazy sun.
But in my deluded expectations and efforts for us to become the destination, I forgot to realise that we were just meant to be another milestone, nameless and scattered along the way.
Thank you so much for sharing your poem with me. I very much like the images and the way you maintain the vision of a “pitstop” throughout the poem. It works! I will be featuring you poem one day this week on my Instagram post – so, stay tuned. Your friend in poetry, Susa
