There is dense darkness all around,
    Black thick night has surrounded
    Burn the lamp of hope,
Do not get so angry with yourself,
Rays of light will come from the horizon,
No matter how big the night is,
    One day it will fall,
    Then it will be morning.

The thick circles of despair have surrounded
There is no hope, no strength,
    Burn the lamp of knowledge,
Do not get so angry with yourself,
The sun will come out of the clouds,
No matter how big the night is,
    One day it will fall,
    Then it will be morning.

Loneliness is only in these paths,
Have to walk on the path of thorns,
    Make yourself strong,
Do not get so angry with yourself,
Even a thorn becoming a flower,
    Will blossom one day,
No matter how big the night is,
    One day it will fall,
    Then it will be morning.

Thank you so much for submitting your poem to be considered as possible Featured Poem of the Week.  I was particularly impressed by your use of repetition and the lovely rhythms that created.  You have some very strong and powerful lines, and some very soft and touching lines – all in all – a really good job.  Wishing you a very happy and productive day, Susan
