Welcome to my Poet Lady Chat Room. I would like to invite you to click on the chat box and type in a question, a suggestion, submit a poem, in other words – “chat with me.” I may, if you submit a poem, decide to feature it in my Poem of the Week section or, we may simply exchange ideas and suggestions about your poem.

This is a place to “talk” poetry with someone who has loved it all her life. I have a true passion for the possibilities of poetry and would love to hear your thoughts and/or read your poem. I will be happy to offer my reaction to your work and, based on over 40 years of teaching poetry, organizing, and conducting poetry workshops, working as a book review editor for an international poetry magazine, authoring five books of poetry and two textbooks on teaching poetry, send along my thoughts on ways to make your poem stronger and more impactful.

If you’re on my site, you have a connection to poetry. Feel free to connect with me – right here -right now, by typing your message into the “chat box” and clicking send. I’m waiting…

Your friend in poetry, Susan

𝐵𝒶𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝑒𝒶𝓃𝓈

                      𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇

Sitting Cold in a Perfectly shaped Black Beanbag with a dilemma,

That teenster was struck with indecisiveness And Horror,

His dry lips parted in a sigh,

He was tensed like anything!

He switched on his Fan

As the fan swiveled its way through the room,

Multicolored lights from the chandelier fell on him

And his long hair began frolicking tremendously over his face,

He was pretty sure that he wouldn’t get caught after he did that,

anyways if he got caught he had devised up a perfect cover-up

He thought, that behind this Naive Blackish BROWN Face of his,

he was a MadMan

“We all go mad at times”, he said to convince himself and to push himself to do that

He pondered Over and Over behind his tensed Acne-prone face as he sat in a rather uncomfortable position over his Black Beanbag,

But,

Eventhough he was tensed,

He was strangely joyed and amused by the very prospect of doing that

That would make him Cool he thought!

For he was nothing but thrilled to do that

“Just One single time!?,” he thought, “there’s nothing wrong with it”…

He knew that he was not a Cold Psycho!

But, It simply gave him chills to even think of doing that

It would give him some PLEASURE and Happiness from his rather Dark and Devastating life

As he rapidly shifted sideways here and there about his beanbag, so as to give himself a comfortable posture,

The black leather of the beanbag got more PRESSURISED,

Just as he was at that moment!

And now,

As He fiercely emerged

From his Black BeanBag,

He had finally decided to do that!!

+-+-+-+

After pulling off the almost-perfect crime,

He switched Off his fan and

Swiftly went off his room;

Now,

The room is Empty, Silent and Motionless!!

Everything was the same as it was before the time he had entered that room,

Except for the fact that now white little beans were lying around the Beanbag, And the Beanbag was no less than a popped Up Balloon!!

Thank you very much for submitting your poem to be considered as Featured Poem of the Week.  It certainly is an unusual poem and I believe there is a bit of humor in it as well.  I appreciate you sharing it with me.  Wishing you a very happy and creative day, Susan
