Welcome to my Poet Lady Chat Room. I would like to invite you to click on the chat box and type in a question, a suggestion, submit a poem, in other words – “chat with me.” I may, if you submit a poem, decide to feature it in my Poem of the Week section or, we may simply exchange ideas and suggestions about your poem.

This is a place to “talk” poetry with someone who has loved it all her life. I have a true passion for the possibilities of poetry and would love to hear your thoughts and/or read your poem. I will be happy to offer my reaction to your work and, based on over 40 years of teaching poetry, organizing, and conducting poetry workshops, working as a book review editor for an international poetry magazine, authoring five books of poetry and two textbooks on teaching poetry, send along my thoughts on ways to make your poem stronger and more impactful.

Climate change is no more a hoax,

Save our future is my humble coax.

Floods, draughts, fire and tremors happening are the proof,

Its not the time to act like a goof.

By using biodegradable and emission free resources,

Let's join hands together to eradicate this coerces.

Let's save our planet Earth,

Leading our future to happy living life with no dearth.

Thank you for your poem that speaks to one of the most important issues of our time.  I feel your emotions and your message is honest and right on!  However, if we are trying to craft the message in the form of poetry, it needs less "telling" and more "showing."  By that I mean, the poem needs images.  What better subject than the destruction of our planet by polluters and greed, to present with strong and powerfully emotional images."Floods, draughts, fire and tremors happening are the proof," - How about including more in the way of imagery here?  "Waters rise like giant hands, erasing landscapes - the earth burns itself dry, hungry flames eat the landscapes/ tremors shake us till we tremble like leaves in a strong wind..."  In other words - show us your passion - make us feel it, deep inside and then, your important poem will become more than a message, it will become a message formed in pure poetry.

I have written more such poems can I share it with you??? I will surely keep your advice in mind while writing new poem. Thankyou for your valuable comments.
