Poet Lady Katz (new forum post): Worst Goodbye

Poetry Talk

Worst Goodbye

My soul yearns for you,

for your love,

for your presence.

A piece of me-

that's what you were made of.

To complete me:

fulfill me to the highest.

I wanted to be loved;

to love.

Can't you stay beside

me forever?

Sitting in silence,

gazing the stars,

under the moonlight,

just listening to

the chirping of crickets.

Taking our breath away

with our chests

falling and rising together,

while we laid on

the soft lush grass—

but you left,

at the piano

with my songs unsung

and the choir of tears.

And that was the worst

ever goodbye-

& a piece of me went.
