New reply from Susan Katz

Thank you for submitting your poem for consideration for Featured Poem of the Month, for June. Your poem has a quiet, compelling element to it and I was drawn in to your story, Some very lovely "poetic" moments. Thank you so much for sharing it with me, Susan

When Brown Eyes Meet

Strange how strangers Become our greatest changers

Listening once made me want to listen forever.

That a new name in my phone would matter this much,

I would have thought never.

For the laughter he brought, I missed him even when he was around.

The world seems colourless, before his eyes they're lovely brown.

He made me want to talk, he heard what I never said.

He smiled at me in ways I cannot forget.

I sit texting him in the same place where I first thought about him. Against this joyless distance, I am still hoping.
