LESSON 66 – THE MEANING OF LOVE

This week I am addressing the need for less anger, less animosity, less prejudice, and less violence and expressing my belief that, whatever the question, whatever the problem, “love is the answer.”

So, today’s lesson is to write, using imagery (metaphor and simile, the five senses – see, hear, touch, feel, and smell and the sixth sense, emotion – how it makes you feel –  onomatopoeia, enjambment, line break, hyperbole, alliteration) a poem that expresses how you feel the world could be changed by each of us being more caring, more loving, kinder and more aware of one another.  Your poem can rhyme or not rhyme as you choose.  Your poem may be a few short lines or, it could be a long, narrative poem.  You decide how you can best describe your feelings about the need for more love in the world.

PROMPTS

Love is the river that flows to the sea…

Love is like the branches on a tree…

Love is the song of the Robin in spring…

Love is the a ray of sun setting over the mountains…

Love is the aftermath of storm…

Love is the breath that feeds our lungs…

Love is the hand that reaches for yours

out of the darkness…

Love looks like…

Love tastes like…

Love sounds like…

Love feels like…

Love is the scent of…

Love makes me feel…

I would invite you to send your finished poem to www.poetladykatz.com by submitting it through the Chat Room.  I will read it and respond to it.

Poetry is a way of spreading love, spreading hope, reaching out to touch one another, through the wonder of words.  So please – Write on
