LESSON 77 – THE STORY OF MY STONE

Today’s lesson is a simple one; relying on your ability to imagine, to dream, to move outside of yourself and into a world of wonder, where anything and everything is possible.  I want you to find a stone – one that speaks to you – calls to you – resonates with you.  Perhaps it is the color or the shape or, perhaps it is something in the texture – but find one that you want to hold in your hand, rub between your palms, and then, let it speak to you.

Write the STORY OF MY STONE – where it has been, what it has witnessed, what has been absorbed into it in the way that sand absorbs the sea, a timeless tale of life and death, calm and storm, darkness, and light…

Some prompts:

I am stone…

I have seen the darkness and the light…

I have felt the earth quivering…

I have heard the roar of the sea as it comes to claim me…

I have tasted the sweet soil and the bitterness of…

I have been surrounded by the scent of flowers and the smell of…

As a poet, one must move beyond what is to what might be – what could be invented – what could emerge out of the endless and limitless place inside of us where we may simply give in to the limitless energy of imagination.  Tell your “Story of Stone…” and please share with me by sending it to www.poetladykatz.com – and clicking on the Chat Room.  I can’t wait to read it.
