Poet Lady Katz: new forum reply to Where I belong.

New reply from Susan Katz

Thank you for submitting your poem for consideration for Featured Poem of the Month for July. There is emotion and an awareness that language plays such an important part in the process of creating poetry. I particularly liked "Somewhere deep rises a dark fog" and "like an invisible string of a kite." I once had a teacher advise me to "write up to the strongest part of your poem." You have some very strong parts to your poem, and I would love to see you "write up to them!" I am grateful you chose to share your poem with me, Susan

Where I belong.

The dark thick canopy

Covers this white sky

Leaving nothing, but little

Traces of silver clouds above.

Somewhere deep rises a dark fog,

mysterious and enchanting, twinkling

Like little stars on a cloudless night sky.

It’s magical touch, made

The little hot stones

To gush from my eyes, like an

Unbidden guest, rolling on my face.

Like two big hands, fog scooping me

to an unknown destiny,

Foreign to eyes,

Yet domestic to heart, like

an invisible string of a kite.

And I know then that,

Its where I belong to,

My secret garden, blooming with love

From the creator, the universe.
