Thank you so much for sharing your poem with me. You have so much passion and emotion in your poem that we are compelled to be move and touched by your words. If I had one suggestion, it would be to "let go of" the rhyme unless it happens naturally, and concentrate more on the passion and purpose of the poem. Keep writing – you are on to something, Susan

Thank you for sharing this short, but very well written, poem in tribute to The Night Sky.   You have some very poetic, rhythmic, and well written lines in your poem.  I particularly like “Radiant Moon Amidst the Clouds” and “Cool Comfort of Darkness.”  Keep writing and experiment with poems that don’t rhyme but rather, focus more on the image and the emotional connection you have towards the subject matter.   – Susan

Thank you for sharing this very intimate and very loving poem with me.  How wonderful to have someone in your life who makes you feel better about yourself.  I was very taken by the line “You make me love me by all of yourself.”  What more would anyone want from a relationship than someone who helps us love ourselves!  – Susan

You have certainly done a very fine job of sustaining the “S” sound throughout your poem.  Sometimes, when we concentrate on one element of a poem, we neglect other, equally ( or more important ) elements such as, imagery and clarity of meaning.  I particularly like the “Strains of sun that stain the summer.”  You have some fine skills.  I would suggest you try your hand at writing poem(s) that delve into the world of meaning, imagery and rhythmic considerations.  I think you would do very well.  Thank you so much for sharing your poem with me, Susan

Your poem is so emotionally charged and there are some very lovely, meaningful, and intensely felt lines that will, I know, resonate with anyone who reads your poem.  I particularly liked “Did you change or did your heart?”  And also, the very simple but important line “And you didn’t even water the plants” because I took “plants” to be a metaphor for your relationship, for you.  Well done, Susan

Thank you so much for sharing “Wilting Leaves of Summer” with me.  You have some very fine lines in this very interesting, very intensely felt poem.  I was particularly taken by the line “a teacher that teaches without speaking a word” – what an interesting concept and how very provocative.  – Susan

What a lovely and moving “tribute” of love. Your poem “Soul Sister” speaks clearly about the bonds of love and friendship and declares in no uncertain terms that, once formed, they cannot be broken.  A poem that seems to come straight from your heart.  Thank you so much for sharing it with me, Susan

I apologize for the delay in my response.  I had personal issues to deal with and simply was  unable to read and comment on the numerous poems that were submitted.  However that, in no way, diminishes the fact that I am very impressed with your poem.  It is filled with a sense of self and the power of poetry to speak our truths.  You have some very fine images in your poem and it has a nice, compelling rhythmic flow.  Thank you so very much for sharing it with me.  – Susan

This is a very well written, very well thought out poem.  I love the contrasts that you play with, within the lines and the way you connect them to the rest of the poem. A powerful and meaningful poem,.  Thank you for sharing,

    Susan
