KeymasterThanks so much for sharing your poem with me. There are some very strong moments and the poem carries a singular tone throughout, which I like very much. I believe your poem would benefit from some thought to correcting grammar and tenses but, overall, I think you have written a fine poem, filled with emotion and truth. Speaking your truth, is what poetry is all about. Your friend in Poetry, Susan

KeymasterThank you so much for sending your poem honoring the beauty, grace, and magical qualities of butterflies. I too, watching them glide from flower to flower in spring and summer, am captivated by their unique elegance. I would suggest that your poem would benefit from less rhyme. Your thoughts are lovely and would flow more gracefully, without the effort of trying to rhyme every line. I do very much appreciate your interest in http://www.poetladykatz and look forward to seeing more of your work in the future. – Susan

KeymasterThank you so much for sharing. There is so much emotion and feeling and love and I can feel it. That’s what words should do – express our feelings – speak from the heart. – Susan

KeymasterThank you for sending. There are some beautiful moments in your poem. You have used alliteration – almost to perfection, in some instances. “In the camouflage of dazzle, from camellia to camomile;” “Pious patina of life’s passion, / In shades of worries & wonders;”
I am truly impressed with the way you articulate your way through the poem – English I presume, is a second language – and yet, you manage to use it very well to express yourself through the art of poetry. There are some moments when I stumble over the wording but, having said that, your poem is really very, very good. I will definitely consider it for the week of March 4th when my theme (and now you know before anyone else) will be “The Moods of March.” I am very impressed with your poetic skills.
May I suggest you go through your poem and look for moments when the poem could be edited a bit – taking out a word here or there and, checking the grammatical implications of words and word combinations. A poem is always a work in progress.
Thank you so much for sharing, Susan

KeymasterHow very romantic, and how sad, your poem is. You have so much emotion and genuine feeling in your poem that we are compelled to experience your feelings. That is what poetry should do – include the reader in the emotions of the poem. There are, as you may know, some grammatical errors that interfere a little with the flow of the poem. However, writing poetry, in a second language, is truly impressive. Thank you so very much for sharing your work with me. Your Friend in Poetry,

KeymasterGood Morning from here in Connecticut, Suchitra. You have done it again. Such a lovely, melodic poem. Your first stanza sets the tone and we are immediately engaged, and delighted to go on this beautiful journey – love, through your eyes. I do have one suggestion, as it was the only moment in the poem I stumbled a bit –
No bitter berry to
crush your taste of this
sky line of joy this
true wine from above
I think the stanza would flow more rhythmically if you removed one of the “this.” Example: “No bitter berry to/ crush your taste/sky line of joy this/…” Or, “No bitter berry to/crush your taste of this/sky line of joy/ true wine…”
Your poem is truly delightful – filled with a gentle – tempting view of love – with the wonderful advice:
“scatter the worry to those stars
shimmering late with jeweled tears”
I will definitely be featuring your poem for our February love theme. Probably next week. Thank you Suchitra. I hope life is treating you well and that you’re busy pursuing all of your many creative inclinations.

KeymasterThank you for submitting this powerfully conceived, passionately written poem about your relationship with “words.” As a poet and author, I understand the role words/word combinations play in our lives and you have captured that beautifully with a variety of strong, compelling images. I do think you should go back over your poem, very carefully, and tighten some of your images. For example, “Threads” would not be “wired” together – they would be “knit” together or “woven” together. These are small adjustments that would, I think, elevate your poem. I will definitely be considering it for Featured Poem of the Week. Good job – well written – and passionate, in the way poetry must be, to be poetry. Your friend in poetry, Susan

KeymasterTaking a break, on a rainy/snowy Monday, and decided to check in with my website. I found your very beautifully written poem waiting for me. Your poem “strolls” through a series of intimate observations of self, of others, and of life in the process of being lived. You have some strong and meaningful lines and they lead us through your, poet’s eye, appraisal of what you see – more importantly, what you feel. If I may, I would like to suggest a couple of small things… “smokes” should be smoke – not plural – / don’t know if you need “as we call it” as we know that because it is what you called it – / – “late night” should be “nights” because you have indicated by using “yesterday’s” that there is more than one night – / “;the city air is bristled with greyish dreams” is great! “Greyish” should be spelled with an “a”. This crowd only dares to whisper” is also a great line. “The sparrows are in search of food” don’t need the “the.” “Cold breeze and chirpings “cut” not “cuts” the silence.” Perhaps “you name necessity” rather than “calls.”
I am really impressed with this poem. It shows me that you have the eye and the heart of a poet. I would be happy to feature your poem, next week, in the Featured Poem of the Week section on my website. I would be pleased if you would consider some of the suggestions I made – please let me know – but, either way, I would feature it, with your permission. Your friend in poetry, Susan

KeymasterAnother beautiful poem. One suggestion – either “streams sway or stream sways” would be grammatically correct. I love the progression of the poem and your ending – lovely, lyrical, and beautifully written. I keep looking at your painting on our wall and saying to my husband, “You can’t believe how multi-talented this lady is.” Truly, I am so impressed with your ability to “speak” through your paintings and your poetry. You are a very gifted lady and I am so happy to have gotten to know you.

KeymasterThank you so much for submitting your “anticipation” poem for consideration to be featured on my https://www.poetladykatz.com website. You have some very good lines and some powerful emotions. Your poem does need some editing when it comes to meaningful and appropriate English grammar. Also, I would, if I may, suggest that you “tighten your poem.”
Example – “Flowers deck the radiant moon / arms open wide / as eternal blue skies / greeting clouds/ brushed with gloom…”
You definitely have the skill of the poet and a wonderful grasp of the meaning and power of imagery. With some work, I would definitely consider featuring your poem.
I thank you again for submitting your work and look forward to rereading, if and when you choose to resubmit. Your friend in poetry, Susan
